Major dilemma of being in metropolitans is enormous population and intensifying pollution level. On the road to deal with these tribulations Daniel Bailey comes out with an attention grabbing thought of BRB Cars. Surrounded by loads of concept cars one and all would apparently imagine this to be a superfluous car model but trust me this is practically exceptional object of expediency and pragmatism.
Enclosing hydrogen filled fuel chamber, this electric driven car is incorporated with outstanding green aspects. One more worth mentioning facet is that the car size is cease able up to half of its projected dimensions, implying its foldable capability.
Hence, above and beyond resolving the pollution issue, this BRB Car model unravels the scarce parking area crisis. Hopefully, this dual pro BRB Car model emerges out to be a promising non cynical green conception.

If Barack Obama says: If some ffa, Al Gore replies: Sadda ffa It calls on all Americans to expect at this point in history something more from politicians who will represent and especially to put into practice the free will and choice: convert all sources of renewable energy within the next 10 years. In short, something that goes far beyond the revolution and that it is put into practice almost immediately. Party as the campaign We can solve it where Al Gore speaks openly of a political class not responding to the choices that await America in the future. He says in his speech:
To be sure, diraggiungere the target of 100% renewable energy and clean within 10 years we have overcome many obstacles. Currently, for example, we do not have a unified national network that is sufficiently advanced to connect the areas where the sun shines and the wind blows toward the city from east to west where the necessary electricity. The conditions of the infrastructure of our national network are often critical.

The reactions of the French second incident in which a leak of uranium are obviously not positive. The press points out that at this point is necessary to have transparency and information to really understand what kind of danger you’re running.
Meanwhile skipping the first head, reports Le Figaro, that Yves Andre director of central Tricastin removed by Anne Lauvergeon, chairman of the board of Areva (controlled by Socatri) who explained that even if this is an accident level 1 (for classifying nuclear accidents is used scale from 0 to 7) l ‘internal audit found serious failures in the management of central and of the emergency.
The authorities, for their part can only say that all is well but not just reassure anyone. Jean-Louis Borloo Minister for the Environment el’ecologia announced during the press conference today a “control plan” after the discovery of contamination oldest at Tricastin.

Until now most of us used to think that the way we travel affects our environment the most. This view is now kicked out by a 408-page report prepared by none other than.
United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). It raises concerns over people’s eating habits that (as is found out by FAO researchers) contribute more to global warming than the whole of US Transport sector taken as one single unit! It is disturbing to note that animal husbandry-meat and dairy, used in making burgers (and the way burgers are being made generally) has so far contributed in rising temperatures and resultant climate change as according to the FAO report, the greenhouse gas emission accounted by this industry and burger making per se is about 18%. The report also said that “the Earth, and all who reside here, are in grave peril like never before”. Another said news from the non-veg camp. Concerns over Salmonella and E.coli attacks and other dangerously fatal diseases like Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (a human variant of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy commonly known as Mad Cow Disease) have always loomed large enough to promote healthy eating habits among people. But never before has been the need to convert into a green diet (vegan diet/eco-friendly diet) more than now, when our Planet’s well-being is at stake!
The report advocates the moral and ethical responsibility that we all have towards our Mother Earth and our existence on it (as such). The need of the hour is definitely to change our eating habits. Predictions by this report say that we can eradicate about 20% of global warming by simply switching to a plant based diet. Not only this, the small change will also take care of other environmental issues like top soil erosion, deforestation and even the ever-worsening problem of water pollution besides being health for our arteries. So, next time u crave for a burger go for the veggie one and save your lungs besides your heart. In doing so you will also ensure a much smaller carbon footprint than one left by eating fatty non-veg burgers!

Parisians are known for their innovative trends world over be it in fashion& beauty, art& architecture, literature& cinema and even eco-concerns. Parisian skyline these days adores a giant tethered helium balloon which is in fact a pollution indicator! The concept is about giving a real-time report of breathable air quality and display the level of air pollution produced by auto emissions via this balloon. The brainchild behind this concept is a company Aérophile. Its AERO30NG model is no less than a tourist attraction since the time it has been installed in the Parc Andre Citroën. The balloon uses a unique lighting system which is visible from more than 12.4 miles! It can store up to 6,000 cubic meters of helium and take up to 30 passengers at a time for a pollution-free joy ride. One can have a 360° panoramic view of the beautiful city while flying at 150m in the sky!
The innovative lighting system of this biggie informs Parisians about air quality via 2 distinct indices:
A) Ambient air quality gets reflected through general illumination using three projectors located upon the envelope’s equatorial plane. The night time visibility is reportedly better.
B) The quality of air near traffic-jam prone areas and bylanes is displayed using a high-power rotating laser beam. The latter sweeps the envelope’s southern tropical plane.

The data for all this is collected by “Airparifâ€- organization that uses sensors to collect info. Within the city of Paris and compiles the data with the nouveau European index developed for the CITEAIR project (currently used by about thirty large cities). The displays are made in colors.
Color code:
RED- highly polluted air; ORANGE- polluted air, YELLOW- mediocre pollution, LIGHT GREEN-clean air and GREEN- very clean air (a blessing for your lungs!)
Note: collected indices also reflect the quantity of the 3 most harmful contaminants: Nitrogen dioxide, ozone, particles.
With this latest attraction now we can only imagine the popularity graph of Paris to be one of the most sought-after traveler’s destinations. The cultural hub now becomes an center of green-tourism as well.

The corals of atolls in island of Kiribati republic are facing danger from something beyond global warming. In Butaritari, a well-known island of Gilberts chain of Kiribati and land area of 13.6 km², the coral reefs are now becoming a victim of algae Eucheuma, introduced by humans for commercial aspects. In Hawaiian Islands, 3 kinds of algae are farmed currently, one of them being Eucheuma which has already destroyed the coral heads of Kaneohe Bay. These algae were brought here during early 70’s by Max Doty, a professor of botany at the University of Hawaii. He developed the techniques of algae cultivation which are now followed by farmers in Kiribati, the Solomon Islands and Tonga.
The algae s harvested for commercial purposes. Eucheuma is seaweed which is cultivated by poor local people of the above mentioned islands. It is not edible seaweed but is grown in huge number to extract carrageenan (a sought-after binder & fat substitute in food industry, used as an emulsifier in ice creams!).
Eucheuma has a low content of carrageenan; hence, needs to be cultivated in large quantities.
The issue now at face is that this sea weed has infected the coral reef of Butaritari. The bushy seaweed nestles itself in the reef’s crevices thus driving out the tropical fishes that once housed these coral reefs. Moreover, this seaweed is so tough that it is avoided by algae-grazing fish also. Besides disturbing the reef’s ecology, the large numbers of weed (Eucheuma) are also fouling the nets of local fishermen. These poor people are not able to catch enough fishes for their survival. Thus the seaweed is indirectly hitting the topmost occupant of the food chain as well! The sad story doesn’t end here. These seaweeds grow at a rate of 7 percent a week; meaning, if this goes on like this for a few more years, the entire coral reef of Butaritari would be destroyed by it!
According to Dr. Jennifer E. Smith of the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Eucheuma is one of the most damaging seaweeds known today. She has studied the Hawaiian invasion for eight years.
Alarmed by the seaweed population, she said, “If there is that much Eucheuma in Butaritari, it proves it can destroy a healthy reef as opposed to a degraded one like in Kaneohe.†Addressing her concern on the increasing coral mortality rates Dr. Smith also said, “Introduced species have had large impacts on marine ecosystems around the worldâ€.
The local fishermen, ecologists and government are still trying to figure out some concrete solution to relieve the stress faced by the corals by this seaweed. What is required is a synergistic move by all the three bodies. But so far the scenario is disheartening only. The world community should take a lesson or two from what is happening in Butaritari that, intentional introduction of species in any ecosystem can cause more harm than imagined by people.

Rising CO2 levels is just not a nuisance for those living above the seas but for those dwelling underneath oceans as well. So far, the focus is shifted more towards the implication of increased levels of this gas in atmosphere; concerns on Global Warming thus being voiced by Governments and Public alike every other day. But oceanographers have warned that there’s another reason to check our carbon emissions as more carbon dioxide in the air means more of it in our oceans and seas. Most of us don’t realize that oceans are the absorbing-pits of this green house gas. As per an estimate, the world’s oceans have absorbed 40 percent of the carbon dioxide emissions produced by humans in the industrial age. And more and more CO2 in oceans is becoming a threat to Coral reefs - nature’s most lively and intricate architecture. Since the time Earth’s landscape comprised of nothing more than huge primordial soup in hot water bodies, these corals are being formed and today they are important for the healthy survival of other marine flora and fauna.

Some might say that, since oceans are there to suck up all that CO2 why should we bother about cutting back our emissions? The reason being ocean waters originally basic in nature (pH wise) are becoming highly acidic day by day, rendering it unfit for the creatures like corals. Already the acidity of ocean waters has shifted about 0.1 on the pH scale, or 10 percent, since pre-industrial times, and could get far more acidic by mid-century. So, besides aggravating global warming, increasing CO2 level is contributing towards ocean acidification. Scientists predict that if we continue to burn fossil fuels at this rate, the acidification process will acquire dangerous proportions. If the current carbon emission rate is not checked over the next decade, marine life including coral reefs will face extinction threat. Think about a scenario where the Great Barrier Reef (Australia) and other famous coral reefs get destroyed. Not only the loss would be incurred upon tourism industry but the ecological impact would far reaching and very drastic.

Already the situation is pretty serious with WWF clearly stating that G8 countries are unable to check their emissions. To overcome this problem measures taken by only G8 countries aren’t enough. People all over the world should unite and work synergistically to protect our natural assets for coming generations.

Celebrate this 4 July with red, blue, white & green. In today’s age, celebrating your country’s and thus, your own freedom in an irresponsible manner is just not fair! We have already done a lot of merry-making at the expense of Mother Nature and now facing the consequences as well. While the buzz words these days are carbon footprint, green house gas emission and sustainability. Let’s see how we can decrease the first two and embrace the third entity this fourth-of-July.
Points to Remember:
· BBQ but in a green manner by using natural gas grills over charcoal grills.
· Say no to plastics (cups& plates). Use recyclable/reusable crockery (SEE below the list of some eco-friendly products that should be used).
· Go for organic food on your palette.
· Share resources, celebrate together with your locality.
· Resist the temptation of burning crackers at home; if must watch nearby town celebration where authorities use green crackers for firework displays.

We talk continually emissions of C02 referring to the volumes released into the atmosphere. And often becomes really difficult to imagine such quantities. The CO2 there but not seen the video and that there port to hand, shows us how much the sole household level, it is fed through the use of balloons blacks…
Each balloon represents 50 gr. CO2 housewife. The campaign was desired by the State of Victoria in Australia.
