This may be called optimum utilization of resources or a measure towards being biodegradable. If you have ever pondered over the amount of food waste that becomes a food for the dustbin, this one is sure to put a smile on your face. The innovative Hybrid Gas Range created by award-winning Korean designer Seokmoon Woo, is an amazing concept, utilizing food garbage as an alternate fuel for the gas range. This concept helps reduce food garbage in households while meeting a chunk of their energy needs as well by allowing them to switch between the collected methane and regular gas at the press of a button.
If we change food garbage at home into methane energy, we can cook with methane instead of gas all the time. Considering that the dwindling natural gas resources have raised an alarm worldwide this device is sure to be a boom for the consumer.
The concept allows users to put away their food garbage in a classifier in the center which ferments and creates methane that is used as fuel for the gas range. The resulting waste is dehydrated by the machine and collected in a tank at the bottom that can be disposed off later. Though still a concept, this one is sure to have buyers in the market the day it is launched.

Concept cars are always trying to out-do one another with fancy new concepts that seem to hover on the borderline of reality and impossibility. It is knowing which side of that line to be on, that makes them either good or forgettable. It seems that Peugeot Loop has got it right with its design and concept. Here is one car of the future with eco-friendly approach towards the future. The car is designed by Abhinav Dapke and it is filled with a perfect blend of technology and green features.
The Loop has the windshield extending as the roof and while that design is common with modern cars, it is the fact that it sports solar panels that sets it apart. The roof of the car has photovoltaic plates that harness solar power to usher the car forward. It also creates an interesting visual pattern. The primary energy source is a rechargeable lithium battery located at the rear of the vehicle. Materials proposed for the vehicle are also eco-friendly.
Semi-circular bags are located along this gangway. They come with customized options for storage, entertainment, interaction, etc, providing the user with greater flexibility and ease of use. An embedded camera also adds to the experience but all this could be too much and could distract from the actual driving. In style, design and eco-friendly features, the Loop wins you over.

Water is indeed inspirational and one trip to the beach will surely inspire you to follow the waves. While Mazda have tried to emulate the wind and sand in car designs earlier, their attempt at giving solid shape to water seems to have come off much better. The Kiyora Concept of Mazda is a futuristic car that is inspired by water and one look at the car clears any further doubts on that. The ?flowing? design of the car along with the pattern on the glass are mesmerizing, to say the least.
Kiyora?s aerodynamic Nagare design and next-generation four-cylinder direct-injection engine contribute to excellent fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The new Mazda Kiyora concept car is based on an all-new platform designed to minimize weight and maximize safety and driving pleasure. It also features an interior design and new functions that support a youthful lifestyle. It seems that this clean car from Mazda with better efficiency and cleaner exhaust will really steal the show when the Paris Motor Show Kicks off. Let’s wait and watch!

Nowadays eco groups are exploring so much possibilities of kinetic energy which were quite unidentified to us few days back. Earlier nobody was sentient of this verity that one day human power would develop into such a resourceful and dynamic kinetic energy asset. An enormously innovative design of Revolution Door featured here is an unsullied illustration of this green energy progression proposed by Fluxxlab. These eco-power engendering doors would surely make populace comprehend the potential of kinetic energy on an outsized scale.
These revolving doors are so designed and put up into their place that simply an effortless human push would be enough for them in confining required force and converting it into electrical energy. Though small in amount yet the valuable power produced by this gyrating door concept would significantly help us in dealing with the swelling dearth of electricity.
So next time when you walk in through a door just take in that your kinetic worth is getting worn out which could otherwise be utilized for a green purpose if that’s not a gyrating door.

Kinetic power seems to be a very popular substitute to conventional sources of energy and human power is being more often used in places where batteries and small cells were earlier used. Today we have gadgets that power up MP3 players and other tiny yet useful stuff with the power produced by human motion. It need not be always deliberate though as your jog in the morning and your stint on your keyboard could power these gadgets as you continue with you own work. It is almost as if we are plugging them in to us for charge; ala The Matrix!
Sony’s ODO Twirl n’ Take is a wonderful little camera that allows you to take snaps without ever using those boring old cells for power. If you are on your trek and want to suddenly take the perfect shot then you need not worry about the batteries you forgot any longer. The camera works when you just spin and stores kinetic energy in it. It is surely a toy for the kids but the technology could translate in to something substantial and cool with time.
The still camera is powered by a rolling head that generates kinetic energy to power on the camera, which actually takes decent photos. The futuristic looking Sony camera comes with a “flower pot†docking station and is purely concept at this point, but it’s one that we would love to see on the store shelves soon. So when is it rolling out Sony?

Nissan Mori is both a unique and an inspirational green concept that is more of a concept than a ‘Nissan’. While Nissan themselves have nothing two with making an electric bike that looks like it has fallen in to the real world from Looney Toon Land, it is what an imaginative designer feels Nissan must be making. (Now, you can see why the big boys do not let anyone and everyone design their stuff). A designer by the name of Shane Crozier has gone ahead and imagined what a scooter by Nissan that was inspired by a chest of drawers would look like.

Nissan Mori is a product of that inspiration and irrespective of what anyone think, we feel that it is really cool in a cute sorts of way. The Mori is all about eco-commuting in a big modern city and it serves its purpose pretty well. But it looks more suited for transportation in malls or in airports. While super-sleek city road might not need a mud guard, this still could do with one. Yet what attracts you is the green concept of an electric powered simple scooter that occupies very little space.

While it is unlikely that Nissan will turn to younger audience who intend to travel across the city in a cool new way with something like Mori, it is a fairly interesting idea that might yield something substantial in future in terms of green commuting.

One look at the GYM concept car and you have to fall in love with the design and the wonderful aerodynamic feel the car has. But when you examine the car and the way it functions in detail, you are sure to take a pass on it rather than actually pick it up and go for a drive. So why is it that you would not really be crazy about a car that looks as cool as the GYM? The answer is simple and it is because it makes you sweat for a decent joy ride around the block.
The GYM Concept Car is powered by your energy and it uses the energy of a work-out to power the car. Kinetic energy from your workout is stored in the car and it is later used to drive it ahead. Of course, you could just plug it in for a charge and that is pretty eco-friendly as well, but that is not in the true spirit of this vehicle!

The concept looks too fancy to be true and unless I like to spend loads of cash on a fancy exoskeleton that I need to push around all the time, I this will not interest many. But maybe we can plug the cars to those preparing for London 2012 and they could start a mass transportation system each day after the practice sessions are done!

‘Green is in’ and it seems to be growing ‘in’ to a way of life that is becoming a part of our homes more and more with each passing day. There was a time when people perceived green gadgets as ungainly stuff that would appear out of place in their sophisticated and stylish homes. But today perception has been radically altered by modern designers who are capable of weaving magic via their production of revolutionary gadgets. Eco-friendly gadgets and alternate sources of energy are now more popular than ever before thanks to their innovative designs.

Photosynthesis is a device by designer Vivien Muller, which is a solar-cell bonsai lookalike, tree charger. You can charge your cell, your Mp3 player or a number of other electronic gadgets by plugging in to the tree. With its’ 57 photovoltaic panels, the sun can power your tree during the day. Obviously you need to place it close to a window with plenty of sunshine and it will just go about doing its job quietly.
While the entire concept looks great and the ‘Metallic’ look is really futuristic, it would have been nice if it had little dots of LED that would be powered up at night to create a more spectacular visual display. Since LEDs consume little power, it would still be ideal for charging up your gadgets. Irrespective of all that, Photosynthesis lives up to its name for sure.
